India will play a three-Test series against South Africa. The first Test between India and South Africa starts on December 26. Each team holds a pre-match press conference. Usually the team captain will address this press conference. However, captain Virat Kohli did not speak to reporters at a press conference on December 25, a day before the first Test.
Kohli will be replaced by head coach Rahul Dravid at a virtual press conference. The BCCI issued a mail on December 24 in this regard. The BCCI has written in an e-mail that Team India head coach Rahul Dravid will address a virtual press conference ahead of the first Test in Centurion.
Virat Kohli held a press conference in India before leaving for the South Africa tour, after which controversy erupted in Indian cricket. Kohli has strongly condemned BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s statement that he supported Kohli when he decided to step down as captain of the T20 team. Ganguly was angry with Kohli’s comments.
