Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir has termed opener Rohit Sharma’s departure from the Test series against South Africa as a “huge blow” for India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday confirmed that Rohit has been ruled out of the three-match Test series against South Africa due to injury. “It’s a big blow to TeamIndia, the way he has batted in England, he is moving away from the Test series when he is in good form.” Gambhir told ANI.
Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Priyank Panchal in the Test squad. ” It is a great opportunity for the youth to take advantage of this opportunity and make the country proud, ”said Gambhir. Rohit, who was recently appointed as the team’s vice-captain, injured his left arm during his training session in Mumbai on Sunday.
