India Tour Of South Africa: Despite the Omicron threat in South Africa, the Indian cricket team will tour this month for the Test and ODI series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced that the Indian team will leave for South Africa for the tour, disregarding all fears and speculations. However some changes have been made in the schedule of this series as well. Earlier, the Test series was scheduled to start on December 17, but now it will start on December 26, nine days later. The three-match series begins with the ‘Boxing Day Test’ and is followed by the ODI series. The two boards have decided to play the four-match T20 series next year with a new schedule.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Saturday confirmed that the Indian team will continue its tour of South Africa with its commitment. Shaw, however, said he would not play a three-format series on the tour. It has been announced that only the Test and ODI series will take place and the schedule for the T20 matches will be prepared later. Cricket South Africa has also announced that the Indian team will be on tour schedule. But later it was decided to postpone it for a few days and start on new dates.

The Indian team discussed the tour of South Africa at the BCCI Annual General Meeting in Kolkata on Saturday and made some changes to the earlier schedule. It was decided to start the tour from December 26 instead of December 17. The Indian team is scheduled to leave for South Africa on December 8, but now Virat Kohli and Koku will be rested for a few days. With the dates of the Test series and ODI series changing for this tour, a new schedule will also be released soon.
